The Nervous System: Switching Between The Sympathetic and Parasympathetic Nervous System

Decreasing stress involves deactivating the sympathetic nervous system (fight, flight, freeze, & fawn) and shifting into the parasympathetic nervous system (rest & digest)
Look at all inputs for five senses.
The nervous system affects the digestive system (gut) and the endocrine system (hormones)
The day requires us to shift into our sympathetic state so we can get things done (sense of urgency – promotes action – cortisol and adrenaline gets us moving) but most of the day we should be in our parasympathetic state (rest and digest) in order to be relaxed/calm and to allow for rest/repair/thinking/focus/creativity/healing/prioritize various reproductive hormones as opposed to being in a state of chronic stress (being in their sympathetic nervous system for maj of the day for a prolonged period of time – months on end – leading to burnout/depression/loss of motivation-creativity) – HPA (hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal) axis
Walking (long walks probably exceeding the 45 minute range also depending on if it’s maj zone 1 or zone 2 heart rate), legs up the wall, corpse pose, wudu, sujood, dhikr, shukr, quran (tajweed stimulates vagus nerve), quality sleep with uninterrupted sleep cycles – 4-6 full sleep cycles, magnesium glycinate, L-theanine, hydration, nourishing the gut with microbiome balancing foods – prebiotics/probiotics/various fibers/less disruptions to mucosal gut lining aka less additives/refined sugars/preservatives/fillers/gums basically avoid the long ingredients list with packaged anything – opt for homemade meals, L-Glutamine, berberine supportive for gut microbiome since it’s anti-microbial,
Being able to shift between the two states easily
(we already shift between the two states during the day naturally but maybe not easily) – instead of metabolic flexibility (using glucose or ketones for fuel) maybe nervous/nerval flexibility?
